Wood Shepherds
BREAKING NEWS! We have put together a small team of Wood Shepherds who are out now collecting fallen trees, large branches and untreated pine and hardwood scraps to be cut and split up to provide bagged firewood for members of our community who are in need.
Several deliveries have gone out already from this new project 😊 well done Jodie 👍🏻 and the Shepherds really need our help to source more wood for pickup.
Our team of Shepherds are equipped with chainsaws, trailers and splitters and can clear any suitable timber you may have laying around - Dry or green wood can be cleared, basically any untreated timber we can get our hands on to help keep this MyPlace community project building.
Even fresh stuff that may have come down with recent big winds can be processed and stored so that it can provide warmth for those less fortunate next winter.
If you or anyone you know needs some wood cleared from your property, please get in touch (see email below) - you can feel warm and fuzzy knowing it will be keeping someone in our community warm who might not otherwise be able to afford to heat their home during these difficult times.
This is a much needed service and our Wood Shepherds are unpaid volunteers doing their bit for the community. While we don't charge for the firewood we provide or ask for payment, a small cash donation to help cover the cost of fuel and chainsaw maintenance is most welcome and always greatly appreciated.
Sheltered storage
Do you have an empty shed or carport you're not using? Temporary storage space is much needed and can be negotiated in exchange for some firewood.
Volunteers
Are you an experienced chainsaw ninja or able to help cut and load firewood? Have a few spare hours and want to do something for the community? Please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
What we can't do
This project is all about helping to clear fallen timber and collecting "safe to burn" scrap wood so it can be put to good use as free firewood for those in need. We can't cut down trees or be a free gardening service. If you have any questions or would like to know if we can come out, please get in touch.
